Institute of Excellence was established by Dr. Vikas Dua to create awareness about Blood Disorder and how Bone Marrow transplant can save lives. Dr. Dau has been vocal about the use of Bone Marrow Transplant and his efforts in field of Half Match Transplant has been recognised Nationally & Internationally.

Mission

The primary aim of the Institute of Excellence in Bone Marrow Transplant is to offer world-class care for blood disorder patients who need a hematopoietic stem cell/bone marrow transplant and to improve patient outcomes through research and staff education.
The Department strives to perform cutting-edge laboratory and clinical research, specifically in the fields of immunogenetics, cellular therapy, transplant tolerance, immune reconstitution, infection control, and survivorship.

• 22-bedded transplant unit
• Outcomes driven by global protocols (10 percent mortality).
• One of the largest centres for multiple sclerosis, sickle cell and aplastic anaemia treatment
• Global standard of infection control practises
• One of the few centres performing matched unrelated donor transplant for thalassemia
• 40 percent long term outcome data for haploidentical transplant
• Already treating patients from 18 different countries and still counting
